How to Measure the Correct Depth:
Measure from the top of the foam rail to the bottom. This will tell you the depth for your mattress. You can also measure the depth of the mattress you are replacing, as long as your current mattress is the right depth for you.

Your replacement mattress will have either a straight or sloped wall. Look at the current setup for your foundation and your current mattress, and make the determination for a straight or slopped mattress.
Replacement mattresses are also available in dual style (essentially two waterbed mattresses in one). This allows for two partners to have their own mattress, even though it's included in one mattress.
Mattress 'wave motion':
Determine what kind of movement you want for your new mattress. You don't have to pick the same 'motion' you have at present. You may want to try a different 'motion' this time.
You can choose from full motion (free flow), semi-waveless or waveless, and everything in between including 90% waveless and super ultra waveless. Dual mattresses also come in several different 'wave motions' to choose from.
